7 MUST TRY restaurants in Southampton - From a Local Foodie
Whether you're heading on a Caribbean cruise from Southampton, catching a show at the Mayflower Theatre, or you're simply tired of wasting time finding a nice place to eat, look no further because I can help you.
I have eaten at many dining spots in Southampton, and this is a list of the top seven restaurants that stand out and are a MUST try. So, whether you're a local foodie or a visitor eager to settle that hunger, read on to discover the best of Southampton's restaurant.

Coriander Lounge
I've visited Coriander Lounge countless times. Recently, my boyfriend and I went there for a date night. Upon arrival, we were kindly greeted by a traditionally dressed Indian host who opened the door for everyone coming in and out. He was also very happy to take a photo with us, one for the memory book!
The food at Coriander Lounge is exceptional, offering a variety of authentic Indian dishes that have never disappointed.

L'Osteria
L'Osteria is my go-to restaurant in Southampton. The first time I visited, I was amazed by the sheer size of the pizzas—they are so big they hang over the plate. For me it is too big to finish, which is a bonus as it means there's always some left over to enjoy the next day.
Besides their gigantic pizzas, L'Osteria also serves fantastic pasta dishes, with portions that are just as impressive.
A unique feature of this restaurant is the Italian language lessons played through the bathroom speakers, so you leave not only full and satisfied but also knowing a couple of Italian words!

Mango's
After numerous recommendations, I decided to take my dad to Mango's for Father's Day. I was thoroughly impressed. This independent, family-owned restaurant has two locations in Southampton.
One of their menu options is the 'Choose for You' feature, where you tell them your preferences, and they select a variety of dishes for you. I highly recommend this! It's perfect for those who want to try new things but are unsure about the menu.
The 'Bang Bang Cauliflower' is a standout dish that I probably wouldn't have chosen without the 'chose for you' option (I think about it every day).
Ennio's
I visited Ennio's on a Sunday to celebrate a family member's birthday, and we had an incredible time. Located right on the waterfront, it offers a beautiful setting for a post-meal stroll.
Their Sunday roast dinners are exceptional, and their Italian cuisine is just as impressive.
Peking Phoenix
Peking Phoenix has been a family favorite since my childhood. Located in Eastleigh, just a short 20-minute drive from Southampton city center, it is the best Chinese restaurant in the area.
The owner, originally from Hong Kong, runs the restaurant with her family, ensuring high-quality, fresh, delicious food.
Indos
My boyfriend introduced me to Indos, a place he has eaten at for years. Indos is a fast-food-style restaurant that offers high-quality, healthy alternatives. Indos is situated right next door to the Coriander Lounge!
It's a perfect spot for a post-gym meal or a quick, affordable bite. They even offer a promotion where you get two free wings if you check in on Facebook.

XOXO
XOXO originally opened in Bedford Place but has recently relocated to Oxford Street in Southampton. This popular bar and restaurant offers a vibrant nightlife and a stylish spot for brunch with friends.
Their menu ranges from full English breakfasts to sandwiches, salads, and pancakes.

Southampton may not have much to offer but it does have some delicious dining spots. These 7 best restaurants are a must-try in Southampton offering a cruising from various cultures, including your classic full English breakfast.
